The entirety of the zombie apocalypse could've been prevented if anyone knew how to close a god damn door
It was just ok.
It felt long, which is not a good think for such a short film. Some bits I loved and there was a nice little twist I didn't see coming.
Pretty brutal. Glad Train to Busan was stepped up several notches from this.

DAY THIRTY-ONE: "Anime is an underrated resource for horror movies. We are going to mine that resource to find an anime horror movie. (No American animation allowed!)"
I had a hard time finding an anime feature horror film available and so without any further ado...ZOMBIES!!!!!!!!!!!! Can a man find his estranged daughter? What happens to the homeless? How will the government respond? Poorly right, that's what I thought. And that's about it, but it's awesome.
The zombies are great in this. When they aren't stimulated by food they are slow and meandering (Night of the Living Dead…
Billed as a prequel to Train To Busan from the same director, Seoul Station never really comes close to reaching the heights of its successor and lacks its emotional core, but still holds its own as a solid animated zombie apocalypse. That's something in itself I guess - I was trying to think of other zombie-based animes I've seen and couldn't really come up with anything.
It's enjoyable enough for what is, but doesn't really do anything new with the standard genre tropes; just translates them into animated form with competence. Unlike Busan, there are no hugely memorable action sequences - maybe the most unique is where Hye-Sun jumps off a building onto a kind of skeletal structure and her…
finally!! someone made a bad animated adaptation of a good live action movie instead of making a bad live action adaptation of a good animated movie!! SOCIETY IS PROGRESSING

Category 7: Animated Films
Though not without its moments, this companion piece to the brilliant Train to Busan is a real miss-fire. The main culprit is the form, to begin with, the grand spectacle of Train to Busan is lost in this anime-styled effort, the reality of the visuals bringing so much to the original film. Part of the appeal of zombie cinema is seeing the real world break down, the slight suspension of disbelief when you believe it could happen. Though animation is a superb artform, the specific handling here is not the best fit for the genre the…

Next Stop, Return to Seoul
Although the zombie apocalypse subgenre has been done to death - as is most likely this play on words - I enjoyed TRAIN TO BUSAN; when learning of this animated prequel I had to check it out.
The first half hour is a zinger emotionally, as it imagines the direct effects of such a castrophe on the houseless population and the fringes of society.
For the rest of the runtime, however, it descends into another predictable zombie apocalypse film, no more no less, and that's a bit of a shame since I thought I was in for a treat and something truly different. The concept really has been overdone.
Train to Busan is easily one of the best Zombie films I have seen in my entire life, and it seems to get better with each time I watch it. Although I had heard generally mixed things about the animated prequel Seoul Station I had still very much wanted to see it. As you can see from my rating, I kind of hated it. However a few things did catch my eyes as solid choices.
Train to Busan's story has a lot of roots in classism, as does this one. They go to the length of having the majority of the characters be poor and/or homeless. The homeless main character is probably the best part of…
